Fascinating displays, well-organized to showcase the history of the Lancashire Fusiliers. Some interactive displays for children 7 years and older. The museum has a lot to offer with many items to view and details on historical events and characters. Some areas have dim lighting making it hard to read exhibit details. Good cafe and gift shop available upstairs with helpful staff. Convenient central location near Metrolink.

Visited on a quiet October Saturday, had 90 minutes and could have stayed longer to try the cafe. Receptionist was friendly and informative. Great place for local or military history projects. Year-long ticket means we will return.

I have taken my older two kids over the years and now starting fresh with my younger one. Haven't been inside yet due to closing time but will definitely come back for a good tour of history. Enjoy sitting in the garden for a breather. Recently went with my little boy and had a great tour, thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff was friendly and kind, didn't have to pay for entry, so thank you. Will explore the 2nd floor next time.

This museum is more suitable for adults than families. My kids had no interest. We came for the Doctor Who zone on Bury Comic Con day but couldn't access the room, so we left. Cafe upstairs with lift access and toilets available.

My dad and I have always been interested in military history. Also, got to meet Sylvester McCoy, Clive Mantle, and Glen So as part of Bury Comic Con.

Excellent experience. Last visited in April 2015 for the 'Six VC's before breakfast' exhibition. A lot has expanded since then, with some labeling of exhibits mixed up and needing improvement. Overall, the quality and rarity of exhibits remain very good. Some important items are positioned too high for easy viewing and could be brought closer for visitors' convenience. The WW1 area could benefit from a replica trench periscope and views of the Western Front or Gallipoli. Mannequins being outside exhibition cases allows better scrutiny of uniforms and equipment. Entry for under £5 with a year-long ticket is a fantastic bargain for adults. Souvenir shop well stocked with second-hand military books at great prices. Volunteer-run and deserving of full 5 stars.
